Oh, that is a good one! And now we have the Testis model, nanotech island, the SciLands have expanded hugely, there is an embarrassment of riches!

I was thinking that the site where you go through the blood stream would fit nicely here too.

I want to learn about filming inside SL too, so anything you learn…let me know too :)

Thank you for the kind and relevant comment, Sarah. :) I keep hoping to update this, but I don’t have all the skills to do it alone. Someday …

THIS IS REALLY COOL, AMAZING, AND INSPIRING!

Excuse the all capital letters sentence but I’m truly enthralled by this.

You’re right. :) I had not seen it written down that way (but had seen people in SL write out the other), but had heard her say it. Hopefully the idea came across anyway … The point was that people from the US, Canada, Europe and Australia can participate in events at the same time. :)

  16. I made a typo, I meant Wollongong – but I guess she’s talking about somewhere else.

  17. perplexitypeccable on February 15, 2010 @ 1:39 am

Wollagong is the location in Australia.

  18. Did she mean Wollengong? Because the way she said didn’t seem very convincing.

  19. econd life is the biggest rip off on the net linden labs promises the world then robs you blind while turning you into a lab rat, technology has failed us.
if u promote this then u should not be an educator. your just promoting students to be as lazy as they can. to use this for educational purposes is the same as using wikipedia for a research paper.

@modernclics The Weather thing is several places in SL, but you might want to start with the NOAA. @rashford, I agree completely, but it requires administrative support. We are working on it and have a couple people interested in redoing this. @macintard – thank you. High praise indeed!

  21. Thanks for this video. I’m saving it to my iPod Touch!

  22. Thanks, great job! And very informative, Perplexity. I would love to see a newer version from you :)
It seems much more has been added to SL in the sciences during the last year. Would you agree?

  23. Where can i find that weather thing?

Hi, CroDigTap! There is (in most versions of the Second Life client) an option under FILE to save video to hard drive. Three of us made this one. I grabbed the machinima (about 1.5 hours of raw footage to edit into this 3 minute video), producer organizer, pro editor added text transitions etc. There are classes on machinima inworld. Ask HVX Silverstar when she is teaching one again. :)

  25. Amazing! I will have to go check out these places soon. How did you make the video in SL, Lexi? I’d love to know how it is done! Thanks for posting!
